Writing on the Wall have opened applications for their Write to Work course. This free innovative writing course aims to develop writing skills and confidence to help jobseekers find the job they want. Applications are open for anyone who is currently unemployed and living in Liverpool. More info.
The Society of Authors has set up the Authors' Emergency fund.
Open to all professional authors who are resident in the UK, including writers, illustrators, literary translators, scriptwriters, poets, journalists and others. Note: those who have had ACE emergency response fund are ineligible for this grant. Find out how to apply here.
If you work backstage or front of house and are struggling right now then The Theatrical Guild might be a good place to look, they have set up a great resource for theatre workers at any stage of their career. It includes help with finances, funding, counselling and training. You can apply for help here, and if you aren't eligible, they will pass you onto an organisation that can help.
Creative Debuts have established the Black Artists Grant, which is on a rolling system so there is no deadline. Once a month £1500 will be given to black artists in the UK with each artist receiving £500. If you want to put yourself forward for a grant, you can find out more about how to do that here.
Calling All Wicked Women! Tmesis Theatre have launched a new FREE course starting in September for women aged 19-25 living in the Liverpool city region, to find pathways into the creative industries. Find out how to sign up here.
Have an outdoor show ready to book? Outdoor Arts UK have created an online directory for shows that are able to be performed in the current climate accounting for social distancing and safety measures for both artists and audiences. It’s a straightforward form to fill in, which you can do here.
The Mono Box Makers Month Online Workshops with UK and international practitioners ranging between £5 - £15. Week 3 starts tomorrow, find out more here.
Looking for a job in theatre right now is really tough. UK Theatre have got job listing on their website, including jobs from Headlong, Punchdrunk, Soho Theatre and more.
If you're a playwright you'll be pleased to know there is a new playwrighting prize from the wonderful people at Hope Mill Theatre called Through the Mill. The winner receives £5000, and their play will be produced by the theatre. The finalists will receive on to one mentoring with Jonathon Harvey. Find out more about how to apply here.
If you’re over 25, based in Merseyside and have always wanted to get into making drama but never had formal training in drama or the arts then Collective Encounters have got a programme for you! The Radical Makers is a free, year long part time emerging artist training course starting in September - more info here.
If you work in Film and TV and are a member of BECTU (you should be if you’re not) they have a brand new initiative to try to quantify the amount of overtime film and TV crews undertake in a hope to tackle the long hours culture of the industry. All the info is here.
The Black Ticket Project are dedicating £5000 to Black young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds looking to appeal their A Level results and can't because of the financial implications - email them at blackticketproject@gmail.com to find out how to access the fund or donate if you can.

Outside the Box is a commission for 4 pieces of new work tailored to the era of social distancing.
Starting Blocks 2021 invites artist to create innovative new projects, as part of a peer network encouraging engaging collaboration between participants.
Seed Commissions for artists from marginalised backgrounds - 9 seed commissions to artists from marginalised backgrounds, to support the development of innovate new theatre projects. These commissions are on offer in autumn 2020.
Fringe Central 2020 virtual hub for Fringe artists are hosting an Equity talk on how they have been supporting performers during the pandemic and what the new landscape might look like. They will be discussing their Theatre Workers' Inquiry and how they are lobbying the government. This talk is on Monday the 17th August at 13:00 - sign up here.
Stage Sight have opened up their next Green Room Session to none members. It's on Tuesday the 18th August at 14:00. There is no formal agenda for the meeting but it is a space for offstage workers to talk about relevant topics that are affecting them in a safe space. You can register here.
The Whitecard Collective are hosting an introduction to Sketch Up session on the 19th August for £8. Tickets here.
Theatre Uncut have opened their Political Playwriting Award for 2020. The winner will recieve £9,500 and the deadline for submissions is 7th October 2020. More info about the prize and how to submit is found here.
Tamasha is a touring theatre company that have set up a new initiate to support secondary school Drama teachers who are continuing to teach during lockdown. They have set up a full video library to support the teaching of playwrighting. Check it out here.
The Lantern Company have launched the Street by Street DIY Festival. You can enjoy the activities any way you want from your own home. From dance to art, to puppets and music and more, there's plenty of fun to be had whilst lockdown continues. Find out how to get involved.
New Commission opens for high quality public art, that can communicate key public safety messaging in a community-focused, innovative and invigorating way. The commissions are worth £3000 and will run from September through til the end of October. This has been set up by COol and Public Health Liverpool and more information about the application criteria and process can be found here.
The Association of Lighting Designers have opened applications for their Lumiere 20:20 programme. 20 emerging lighting practitioners will be chosen from applications and then will be paired with 20 Lighting Designers for weekly 1 hour online conversations. Applications are open now.
Screen Skills are offering a ranger of online events, training and learning. You can also apply for mentoring, bursaries and funding. There's so many amazing opportunities you'll have to see it to believe it.
